Avenues Mall second phase nearing completion; 75% works over

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, made a visit to the site of the second phase of the Avenues Mall expansion project.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah said that the rapid growth of investment activities in major projects by the private sector reflects the attractive competitive environment of the kingdom.

He said that this was aligned with the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which is followed-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Waleed Al Sharian, Chief Executive Officer at Mabanee Company, briefed Shaikh Khalid on the components of the project in its second phase and its facilities which are designed in an architectural style inspired by modern and diverse concepts.

He also briefed Shaikh Khalid on the progress rate of its completion, which reached 75%.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah said that the second phase of the mall will add a new dimension to the commercial and tourism sectors in the kingdom.

He added that it will create more job opportunities for citizens and meet the needs of its visitors, which directly benefits the national economy.

The Deputy Premier noted that the mall represents a successful investment of municipal resources in the long term, and a successful partnership between the public and private sectors.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah expressed his appreciation to all relevant authorities for their cooperation to complete the project on time.

Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture, emphasised that the focus of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support developmental projects contributes to achieving the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 through partnership with the private sector to provide diverse and advanced services and facilities.

He commended Shaikh Khalid’s follow up on the ministry’s various projects, noting Shaikh Khalid’s keenness to integrate efforts between the various ministries and relevant government agencies through his chairmanship of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects.
