NSSA joins Gulf workshop on space cooperation

The National Space Science Authority (NSSA) actively participated in a significant workshop organised by the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
The event, titled “Cooperation in the Field of Space,” convened Gulf leaders in the space sector in Riyadh.
Led by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Asiri, CEO of the Authority, the Bahraini delegation delivered a comprehensive presentation on the history of the Kingdom’s space sector and the Authority’s journey from inception to present.
Key achievements and significant projects undertaken by the Authority were reviewed during the presentation.
Dr. Al-Asiri emphasised the workshop’s pivotal role as the inaugural initiative by the General Secretariat to understand the space sector’s history, capabilities, achievements, and future plans across member states.
Discussions centered on fostering Gulf cooperation in space to achieve integration among member states.
Coordination Expressing gratitude, Dr. Al-Asiri commended the General Secretariat for its coordination and organisation of the workshop.
He underscored the importance of the workshop’s recommendations in bolstering Gulf action to realize the aspirations of GCC countries.
Also representing Bahrain at the workshop were Dr. Muhammad Al-Othman, Advisor to the Authority for Scientific and Technical Affairs, and Professor Amal Al-Binali, Director of the Strategic Planning and Projects Department.
