Arab League chief arrives in Bahrain

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, arrived in the Kingdom yesterday to participate in the 33rd Arab Summit in Bahrain on May 16 under the presidency of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Upon arrival at the Bahrain International Airport, the Secretary-General was welcomed by Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, and Foreign Affairs Ministry officials.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, convened a meeting with Aboul Gheit, emphasising HM King Hamad’s commitment to ensuring the success of the event.
Dr. Al Zayani lauded the collaborative efforts between the League of Arab States’ General Secretariat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and relevant authorities in preparing for the summit, amid the challenging circumstances posed by recent Israeli attacks on Gaza.
Aboul Gheit expressed his pleasure in visiting Bahrain for the summit’s proceedings.
