Bahrain-France business summit mulls enhanced economic collaboration

Top-tier Bahraini and French business officials and executives convened yesterday to discuss strategies aimed at streamlining operations, enhancing business relations, and fostering new avenues of cooperation. Sameer Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, underscored the burgeoning relationship between Bahrain and France, particularly in the realms of business, investment, and trade.

Notably, trade volume surged to $512.5 million in 2023, marking a substantial 33% increase.

Nass welcomed Eric Giraud-Telme, the French Ambassador to Bahrain, along with Jean-Christophe Durand, Chairman of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCIB), and Executive Director Rim Jalali.Key discussions revolved around the immense business potential between France and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The strategic location, robust infrastructure, and highly skilled workforce of the region were highlighted. Of particular interest was the upcoming “Vision Golfe” initiative, aimed at facilitating dialogue between business owners and decision-makers from the GCC and France.

The meeting also saw the participation of prominent figures including Vice Treasurer Waleed Kanoo, Bureau Member Bassim Al Saie, and Board Members Yousuf Salahuddin, Abdulwahab Al Hawaj, and Yaqoob Al Awadhi, alongside CEO Atef Al Khaja.
