Kooheji arrives in Jordan

Bahrain professional fighter Hamza Kooheji of team Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) has arrived in Jordan ahead of the MMA Championship "Desert Force 17" at the Al Hussein Youth City Boxing Arena in the capital Amman which takes place tomorrow.

Kooheji is set to take on Jordanian fighter Ghalib Harahsheh and today will take part in a weigh-in and press conference.

On arrival in Jordan, Kooheji was met at Queen Alia International Airport by a number of representatives from Bahrain's Embassy and later had two training sessions in order to shed further weight before today's weigh-in.

His Russian coach Aldarov said his fighter was ready to face Harahsheh and would have a light training session today to reach the desired weight.

The championship will see many prominent fighters from the Gulf and the Middle Eastern region in the fray.

Kooheji thanked First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and representative of His Majesty the King to Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their supported and passed on their best wishes for Jordan's National Day celebrations.
