Over 91,000 wastewater tests conducted last year

The Ministry of Works has affirmed its rigorous commitment to quality control by conducting a comprehensive assessment of wastewater and treated water in wastewater treatment plants throughout the year 2023.
With more than 91,000 laboratory tests performed on samples from various commercial and industrial activities, sewage pumping stations, and treatment plants, the Ministry underscores its dedication to upholding stringent standards in water management.
The Ministry outlined its ongoing efforts to elevate laboratory standards in accordance with the latest specifications aligned with ISO requirements for chemical and microbiological analysis.
The state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, equipped with cutting-edge analytical technology, ensures meticulous quality control and compliance with regulatory mandates, including those stipulated in Law No. (33) of 2006 concerning sanitation and surface water drainage.
