‘Quran Recitation’ winners honoured at Al Noor School

Al Noor International School held a ceremony in the school’s Multipurpose Hall on Monday to honour the winners of the ‘Quran Recitation and Memorising’ competition. More than two hundred students received prizes under different categories including reciting Surah by heart, for best voice and Tajweed.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Fareed bin Yaqoob Al Muftah, Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Kingdom of Bahrain, handed out the prizes and certificates along with Ali Hassan, the school’s Founder Chairman. The function was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Education, officials from the diplomatic corps, other dignitaries and parents.

Also present were the School Principal Rashid Mandi, Director Dr. Muhammad Mashood, Vice-Principal 

Amin Mohammed Hulaiwah, as well as Head Teachers and staff members.

A total of 5200 students participated in the competition, with 800 students reaching the final rounds. The winners of the competition received their awards from the Guest of Honour.

Abdulla Mahmood Helbawy of Grade 9 recited verses from the Holy Quran and Al Mustafa Ahmed Kamal, Hassan Ali Ahmed, Bader Abdulla Mohammed, Yusuf Osama Ahmed, Haitam Mohammed and Fahad Abdulla read Duaa. Mohsin Faisal Abdul Husain of Grade 11 welcomed everybody present on behalf of the students. This was followed by a touching reading from the Holy Quran by Abdulla Mahmood Helbawy, Zainab Nazimudeen, Azfar Zafar, Mohiuddin, Hamad Kifah, Muhammad Hadi Rosli, Afia Abdul Latheef, Sulekha Nazimudeen, Mohammed Jabir Jamaludin, Abdelrahman Harrath, Anes Mostefa Ghassoul, and Mohammed Saif Al Islam.
