Bahrain Airport Company, responsible for managing and operating Bahrain International Airport, has announced its hosting of the fourteenth edition of the World Airport Lawyers Association (WALA) conference in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The conference is scheduled to take place from May 29 to 31, 2024, at the Gulf Hotel.

The selection of Bahrain as the conference host marks a significant addition to the Kingdom’s aviation sector.

This event serves as a crucial platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among airports worldwide, showcasing Bahrain Airport Company’s distinguished role in the aviation industry and contributing to the Kingdom’s efforts to solidify its global position in aviation.

Legal specialists

The WALA conference, expected to draw nearly 100 representatives from over 25 countries, gathers legal specialists from the global aviation sector to discuss studies submitted by international airports.

Bahrain Airport Company CEO, Mr. Mohammed Yousef Al-Binfalah, welcomed the conference’s hosting, emphasizing its importance in reviewing the remarkable developments and rich history of Bahrain’s aviation sector.

He highlighted the cultural and developmental aspects of the Kingdom, aiming to showcase its progress on the global stage.

Al-Binfalah underscored the conference’s significance as a premier event in aviation, serving as a pivotal platform for knowledge exchange.

Notably, this marks the first time the conference will be held in the Arabian Gulf and Middle East regions, with airport CEOs from the region convening to discuss legal topics pertinent to airports worldwide.

The conference agenda includes sessions and workshops covering various topics such as evolving global legal landscapes, the Gulf region’s leadership role, environmental concerns, societal impacts, governance, and legal perspectives for airports.
