The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet said that HM the King’s presidency had a significant role in the summit’s success, noting that the summit’s outcomes will further cement Arab unity.

It stressed the importance of HM the King’s address at the 33rd Arab Summit, which emphasised the necessity of reaching a consensus on endorsing peace as a strategic, indispensable choice to maintain the progress of humanity towards a brighter future, as well as HM the King’s announcement of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s proposal of a suite of initiatives to contribute to serving core issues essential to the stability and development of the region.

The Cabinet commended Team Bahrain’s joint efforts, including that of the government ministries and entities and private sector institutions, all of which contributed to the success of the summit.

In this regard, the Cabinet directed the formation of a national committee concerned with coordinating and following up on the implementation of the initiatives submitted by Bahrain to the Arab Summit.

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Cabinet expressed its congratulations to HM the King and GCC leaders, commending the Council’s achievements and accomplishments across all sectors.
