The Bahrain Labour Fund, Tamkeen, has unveiled a new programme to support Bahraini enterprises in franchising their businesses globally.

The announcement was made at a recent event attended by key business stakeholders. The event featured a panel discussion that highlighted the importance of franchising for Bahraini companies. The new Business Franchising Programme is a joint effort between Tamkeen, Export Bahrain, and iFranchise Facilities Services LLC, a consultancy specialising in franchising.

The initiative offers comprehensive support to empower Bahraini enterprises to venture into new markets, enhancing their global competitiveness and promoting domestic exports.

Tamkeen’s Chief Executive, Her Excellency Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, stated that the programme provides customised assistance through two avenues: one for enterprises new to franchising and another for existing chains seeking international expansion.

Included within the programme’s ambit are assessments of readiness, market evaluations, strategic alliances with Export Bahrain, support for business development, and a guiding hand in the initiation of franchising endeavours and the forging of partnerships.

“Franchising offers an ideal pathway for Bahraini products to reach global markets,” said Safa Sharif A. Khaliq, CEO of Export Bahrain. Mark Seibert, CEO of iFranchise Facilities Services, commended Bahrain’s conducive business environment and the roles of Tamkeen and Export Bahrain in facilitating the global expansion of Bahraini enterprises.

This collaboration is in line with Tamkeen’s 2024 strategic priorities, which are centred on economic impact and the development of the private sector.
