The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted 1,523 inspection visits and campaigns last week, from 12 to 18 May 2024. These inspections resulted in the arrest of 30 violators and the deportation of 175 individuals.
These assiduous examinations were directed at a miscellany of commercial establishments across all governorates and uncovered violations related to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the laws and regulations pertaining to residency in Bahrain. The LMRA took the necessary legal measures against the observed violations.
In addition to the inspections, the LMRA participated in 11 joint campaigns with the Ministry of the Interior, which spanned the Capital, Muharraq, Southern, and Northern Governorates. These campaigns were orchestrated with the intent to eradicate illicit conduct and fortify the stability and competitiveness of our labour market.
Vigilant collaboration
The LMRA continues its vigilant collaboration with the governmental apparatus to amplify the vigour of their inspectional efforts and combat violations that negatively impact the labour market, as well as economic and social security. The authority encourages the public to support their efforts by reporting any complaints related to labour market violations and irregular employment through the LMRA website (www.lmra.gov. bh), the telephonic helpline (1750 6055), or the National Suggestions and Complaints System, known as Tawasul.
