University of Technology Bahrain fosters inclusivity and social responsibility

To strengthen community engagement efforts, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), in collaboration with Bahrain Mobility International (BMI) Centre, organised a special soul tournament for people with disabilities, championing disability awareness and fostering partnership.
The event featured a range of activities including shotput, basketball, badminton, and paddle matches, creating an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for participants and audience, including students and staff. Refreshments and awards further enhanced the vibrancy of the event.
BMI centre and UTB have forged ties for sustainable programs for individuals with disabilities, with a focus on inspiring individuals to pursue their passions and strive for excellence. Through these initiatives, they seek to promote inclusivity and create opportunities for personal and professional growth among participants.
Noura Aldosary, a member of BMI’s Board of Directors, expressed gratitude to UTB for hosting the tournament and affirmed BMI’s continuing support of people with disabilities. She expressed anticipation for more collaborative activities between BMI and UTB.
Dr. Adnan Altamimi, UTB’s Vice President for Administration and Finance and Head of Community Engagement Office, led the activities, underlining UTB’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and showcasing the talents of individuals, including those with disabilities. He emphasized that hosting the tournament provides a platform for empowerment, achievement and community integration.
