Dangerous lane switching: Drunk driver detained

The Public Prosecution announced that it had received a report from the General Directorate of Traffic regarding a vehicle driver who deliberately changed lanes on the road leading to the King Fahd Causeway.

The driver’s actions were intended to sow discord among the traffic and imperil lives, as well as private and public property. Upon receiving the report, the Public Prosecution launched an investigation.

The party in question was subjected to rigorous questioning, and through the irrefutable testimony of videographic evidence, it was ascertained that the offense had indeed been perpetrated.

The driver confessed to the incident and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

While driving, he veered across lanes without regard for safety, causing a disturbance in traffic.

The driver intentionally blocked traffic and violated safety and security standards, thereby instilling trepidation and unease among the users of the road.

In light of these findings, the Public Prosecution ordered the defendant to be detained pending further investigation.

The case will then be referred to the relevant court for adjudication.
