The Public Prosecution, working with the Naim Police Station, has effectively dismantled a network engaged in the illicit sale and import of banned tobacco products into Bahrain.

Upon receiving confidential tips, the team zeroed in on a facility likely used for storing these unlawful items.

An expedited raid resulted in the apprehension of individuals linked to the network and the confiscation of an impressive 4,589 packets of the illegal tobacco.

An immediate and exhaustive probe was launched by the Public Prosecution Office, which included a careful examination of the confiscated goods and extensive questioning of the detained individuals.

Faced with overwhelming evidence, the accused admitted their roles in the criminal enterprise.

The suspects remain in custody, as ordered by the Public Prosecution Office, while the inquiry continues. The objective is to ensure the culprits face trial.

The operation’s success is a clear indication of the Public Prosecution Office and the Naim Police Station’s effective strategy in clamping down on smuggling, shielding the Kingdom of Bahrain from the detrimental effects of illicit substances.
