Bahrain ranks high in Global Youth Development Index 2023

The Kingdom of Bahrain has secured second place among Arab countries and third in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in the Global Youth Development Index 2023.
This index, relied upon by researchers, policymakers, and civil society, tracks progress in sustainable development goals related to youth development. It reflects Bahrain’s achievements and its commitment to nurturing and empowering its youth and talents.
The Global Youth Development Index 2023 report, published by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Institute for Economics and Peace, highlights progress and priorities for promoting the well-being and empowerment of young people worldwide.
Evaluating youth development in 183 countries across areas such as health, education, job opportunities, peace, and security, the report classifies Bahrain as a country with very high youth development, the highest classification among four categories.
This classification underscores Bahrain’s investment in creating future leaders.
Analysing performance in various fields, the report places Bahrain first in the MENA region for equality and inclusion and tops the Gulf in employment and opportunities.
Globally, Bahrain ranks eleventh in both fields, showcasing its strong framework for gender equality and youth development.
