The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has made its mark at the prestigious International Tourism Fair of China (ITB China 2024), held in Shanghai.

With over 600 exhibitors from 80 countries worldwide, the event served as a significant platform for global tourism.

BTEA officials visited the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion at the exhibition, showcasing a collective effort alongside Gulf Air, the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, and an array of hotels, resorts, and destination management companies.

During the exhibition, the Bahraini delegation showcased the Kingdom’s burgeoning tourism sector, highlighting its key attractions and tourist destinations.

They also presented Bahrain’s vibrant agenda, featuring cultural festivals like the Bahrain Food Festival, the Bahrain Holiday Season, and the Spring of Culture, as well as prestigious international events such as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Commenting on the participation, Her Excellency Sarah Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the BTEA, emphasised the pivotal role of the tourism sector in strengthening bilateral relations between Bahrain and China.

Commitment

She underscored the Authority’s commitment to positioning the Chinese tourism market as a primary focus of attraction efforts, announcing plans for a forthcoming marketing campaign targeting Chinese markets.

Buhiji further elaborated on the recently launched “China Ready” program, designed to enhance Bahrain’s readiness to cater to the specific needs of Chinese tourists and facilitate their travel experiences.
