Authorities seize 410 kilograms of illegally caught shrimp

The General Administration of Marine Wealth at the Supreme Council for the Environment seized around 410 kilograms of shrimp caught illegally, violating the shrimping ban.
Officials stated that catching, selling, displaying, and trading shrimp, especially using bottom trawl nets, is prohibited during the ban.
These actions contravene Ministerial Resolution No. 205 of 2018, which bans fishing with bottom trawl nets.
Judicial officers at the Fishing Ports Administration, through regular and random inspections in the Capital Governorate, confiscated the large quantity of shrimp.
The Fishing Ports Administration will continue to intensify inspections and enforce strict procedures to deter violators, referring them to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal actions.
