China affirms support for Bahrain, rejects meddling

China reiterated its steadfast support for Bahrain, rejecting any external interference in the Kingdom's internal affairs, as the Kingdom also reaffirmed its commitment to the One-China policy.

The joint statement, issued to commemorate the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Bahrain and China, underscores mutual backing on core issues.

In its statement, Bahrain reiterated its adherence to the One-China policy, endorsing China's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.   

The Kingdom also commended President Xi Jinping's Global Development, Security, and Civilisation Initiatives. In response, China welcomed Bahrain's participation in these initiatives and expressed willingness to collaborate.

Both parties stressed the importance of genuine multilateralism, upholding the UN-centered international system, and fostering a multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.

They pledged to work together to create a shared future for humanity.

The agreement includes plans to enhance communication across all levels, expand exchanges between governmental and parliamentary bodies, and strengthen policy coordination to deepen political trust.

Under the Belt and Road Initiative, both nations will boost cooperation in various sectors such as infrastructure, trade, investment, finance, technology, agriculture, education, culture, tourism, and health, aiming to spur development and prosperity.

They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf, advocating for dialogue and consultation to resolve disputes, promote positive neighbourly relations, and enhance coordination on regional matters to foster peace, development, and security.
