The Embassy of India held an open house event yesterday, chaired by Ambassador Vinod Kurian Jacob. The event was attended by the Embassy’s Community Welfare team, Consular team, and legal advisors.

More than 20 Indian nationals participated, with discussions conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.

Community members were cautioned about recent spoofed calls from fraudsters impersonating the Embassy’s 24x7 helpline number (39418071), soliciting personal information or demanding money.

It was emphasized that Embassy officials do not use this number to contact individuals.

Attendees were also informed about the Yoga curtain-raiser event at the Embassy, where over 60 members participated actively.

Ambassador Jacob expressed satisfaction with the resolution of several housemaid and labor cases in May, thanking local authorities and associations for their support.

The Embassy said it continues to assist distressed Indian nationals, including providing boarding, accommodation, emergency certificates, and tickets through the ICWF.
