Bahraini astronomical researcher Ali Al-Hajri has announced the official commencement of summer in Bahrain, revealing that the season will begin on June 20 at 11:50pm.

This declaration comes following extensive astronomical calculations conducted by Al-Hajri.

According to Al-Hajri’s findings, the onset of summer coincides with the arrival of the first day of the next month of Dhul-Hijjah for the year 1445 astronomically, which corresponds to June 7, 2024.

Summer of this year will align with the third house of the Pleiades, residing in Gemini for a duration of 13 days.

This period will extend from the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah until the third day of Eid AlAdha.

Al-Hajri elaborated on the characteristics of the summer season, highlighting observations such as the migration of birds, land and plant drying, and increased humidity during calm winds.

He noted the significant shortening of shadows and the ground’s saturation with the sun’s heat during specific periods of the day.

Al-Hajri provided insights into the astronomical positioning relevant to the Sacred House of God in Mecca, emphasising the sun’s angle and shadow direction during the Hajj rituals.

Specific time periods He emphasised the importance of adhering to specific time periods based on astronomical calculations for Hajj rituals, including standing at Arafat and stoning the Jamarat in Mina.

The astronomical researcher concluded by outlining key timeframes for Hajj rituals, such as standing at Arafat before noon, making intentions in Muzdalifah before sunrise, and stoning the Jamarat in Mina during daylight hours.

He underscored the necessity for pilgrims to adhere to these precise timeframes to ensure the correctness of their actions during the Hajj pilgrimage.
