Mosquito combat campaign underway

Northern Governor, H.E. Ali bin Shaikh Abdul Hussein Al Asfour, has disclosed plans for a joint campaign aimed at combating mosquitoes.

The campaign, operating under the slogan “Combating mosquitoes is the responsibility of everyone and by everyone,” is set to commence tomorrow, beginning at the Saraya Abu Quwah area (Block 457).

This location marks the campaign’s inaugural effort to tackle areas with significant mosquito presence, as determined by previous visits from the campaign team.

The announcement was made during a preliminary meeting presided over by the Northern Governor to strategise and refine the executive program for the campaign.

This initiative aligns with the governorate’s broader goal of establishing the Northern Governorate as a model of health and wellness.

Meeting

Present at the meeting were the Deputy Governor of the Northern Governorate, Brigadier General Abdullah Ali Rashid Maantar, Chairman of the Northern Municipal Council, Shubar Al-Wadaei, and officials representing the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, the Supreme Council for the Environment, the Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Health, the Municipality of the Northern Region, strategic partner Bapco Refining Company.
