Cabinet affirms support for US President Biden’s proposal to permanently end conflict

The Cabinet commended the recent initiative put forth by the US President Joe Biden, advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza.

It urged all parties involved to earnestly and positively consider this proposal, viewing it as an opportunity to bring a permanent end to the conflict, facilitate the release of hostages and detainees, initiate the reconstruction of Gaza, and enhance the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance to civilians.

The Cabinet acknowledged His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s call for the prompt convening of an international peace conference aimed at supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their own sovereign state.

HM the King made the call while delivering a speech at the opening session of the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed its readiness to host this conference, underscoring its commitment to addressing the fundamental issues crucial to the region’s progress and stability.

During its weekly Cabinet meeting yesterday chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Cabinet commended the outcomes of the state visit by HM the King to China, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.

The Cabinet hailed the visit, which has bolstered the comprehensive strategic partnership between Bahrain and China.

Bahrain Declaration

It noted the significance of the official discussions held between HM the King and Chinese President Xi Jinping in regards to the Bahrain Declaration, which was issued during the 33rd regular Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit Level that covered regional and international issues.

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the signed agreements and memoranda of understanding, which will further strengthen Bahrain-China relations.
