A 28-year-old woman from an Arab country appeared before the High Criminal Court, accused of biting off the finger of another woman of the same nationality during a fight in a nightclub restroom.

The defendant denied the charges, claiming that she did not intend to cause permanent harm. However, the victim testified that during an early morning altercation on April 24, 2024, the defendant attacked her in the nightclub bathroom, hitting her with her hand, biting her, and severing her finger, causing injuries documented in a forensic medical report. The victim further stated that the attack resulted in a 2% permanent disability.

According to the victim's testimony, the fight began with a verbal argument and escalated into a physical altercation where the defendant grabbed her hair and scratched her face. The victim defended herself by scratching the defendant's face. A friend of the defendant attempted to break up the fight but was unsuccessful.

The victim stated that the defendant then lunged at her and bit off her little finger. She described the defendant as being in a hysterical state and saw a lot of blood and her severed finger on the floor. The defendant then attempted to flee, but the victim screamed, called the police, and picked up her severed finger.

During the investigation, the defendant admitted to the fight but denied biting off the victim's finger. The hotel manager testified that he was informed of a fight between two Arab women and that one of them was in the reception area with an injured finger. He also stated that the defendant was a regular customer who had previously bitten a Gulf citizen's ear, and he provided a video recording of the incident.

Security camera footage confirmed the defendant's entry into the restroom at the time of the incident. Another video showed the defendant biting a Gulf citizen's ear on a previous occasion. Additionally, a criminal record check revealed a complaint against the defendant for biting a Gulf citizen.

The court is expected to continue hearing the case and will ultimately decide on the defendant's guilt or innocence. If convicted, she could face significant penalties, including imprisonment.
