The much-anticipated Muharraq Ring Road project is set to open in early 2025, approximately six months from now, according to the Vice President of the Muharraq Municipal Council, Eng. Saleh Jasim Buhaza. The project will be inaugurated in stages, he explained.

During the latest session of the Muharraq Municipal Council, Buhaza provided additional details.

He stated that the road will commence at the intersection of the Muharraq Ring Road in Samaheej-Diyar Al Muharraq, traversing through Al Dair, Busaiteen, and Al Sayh, before reaching the Bahrain Bay area north of Manama Island. Buhaza highlighted that the Muharraq Ring Road project is a crucial step in alleviating traffic congestion on Muharraq Island.

He noted that the completed section features a dual carriageway with three lanes in each direction, stretching from the entrance of Amwaj Island to Diyar Muharraq.

The initial phase of the project has also enhanced connectivity by linking the villages of Qalali, Samaheej, and Al Dair to the main road, providing new entrances and better access to these areas.

Additionally, Buhaza revealed that the project includes the construction of a sea bridge connecting the Al Sayh area and the Bahrain Financial Harbour.

This bridge will span approximately 550 meters, with a main opening 150 meters wide and a height of 93 meters above sea level.

The bridge will feature five traffic lanes in each direction and will be connected to two streets with four lanes in each direction, one extending eastward from Al Sayh to Diyar Al Muharraq, and the other westward, linking Bahrain Harbour and the waterfront in the Seef area as part of the second phase of the bridge project north of Manama.
