Provided support to over 77,000 businesses since inception: Tamkeen; 142,000 Bahrainis benefitted, total economic contribution over BD2 billion

The Labour Fund, Tamkeen, has revealed that its economic contributions have surpassed BD2 billion in direct and indirect funding. This support has benefited over 142,000 Bahrainis through key training and employment initiatives in the private sector. Additionally, more than 77,000 enterprises have benefited from Tamkeen’s programmes since its inception.
In a presentation to the Southern Governorate Municipal Council during its weekly meeting, Tamkeen highlighted its achievements, including providing 208,600 training opportunities worth BD413 million and offering BD812 million in subsidised loans to over 22,000 enterprises. Through its Enterprise Support Programme, Tamkeen has provided assistance to 17,000 businesses with a total value of BD300 million.
Unemployment insurance
Additionally, the fund has offered BD313 million in unemployment insurance to all private sector establishments. Moreover, Tamkeen presented its new programmes, including those for employment support, career development support, and enterprise support.
Employment support programmes encompass the National Employment Programme, Onthe-Job Training, Apprenticeship, Training and Employment, and Training for Job Seekers. Meanwhile, career development support programmes include Wage Increase, Professional Certifications, Leadership Recruitment, Training Support for Enterprises, and Global Internship.
Enterprise support programmes encompass Start Your Business, Financing Support, Riyadat, and Global Entrepreneur.
Strategic partnerships
Tamkeen also highlighted its strategic partnerships for human resource development, including a collaboration with General Assembly, a leading global technology academy.
This partnership aims to provide award-winning training programmes to Bahraini nationals, delivered by expert technical trainers through specialised and advanced courses.
These courses address existing local and global technology-based skill gaps, aiming to refine the skills of Bahraini talents and equip them with advanced skills in these fields.
