The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has referred five auditors to the Disciplinary Board for Auditors following the detection of several violations of Decree Law No. (15) of 2021 concerning External Auditors.
These violations included non-compliance with professional ethics and practices, the absence of signed engagement contracts between auditors and clients, the lack of audit evidence supporting professional opinions, and the inclusion of inaccurate data and figures in reports issued by these firms, as per a statement issued by the Ministry.
The Ministry affirmed in the statement its commitment to strengthening oversight and addressing all violations and non-compliance with the law’s provisions. “This commitment aims to enhance transparency, sustainability, and trust in the commercial and economic environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain,” it stressed.
