Fueled by a desire for violence, a Gulf national, aged 36, found himself behind bars for three years after a brutal robbery and kidnapping a man.

The High Appeals Court will issue its final verdict on October 6 on his appeal, but the initial ruling paints a chilling picture of violence and desperation.

The victim’s ordeal began at a restaurant around midnight. The second defendant, acting on the first defendant’s instructions, accosted the victim, grabbing him by the neck and forcing him into their car.

Fury

They drove him to an apartment in Juffair, where the 36-year-old un - leashed his fury. Punches rained down on the victim, followed by blows from a wooden ladder that left him battered and bruised.

The first defendant then tied him up with a curtain rope, leaving him helpless and terrified.

The 29-year-old second defendant, though not directly involved in the initial assault, participated at the first defendant ’s behest, adding to the victim’s misery.

Forover 12 hours, the v i c t i m remained captive, his tormentors h a v i n g stolen his phone and scooter key. But amidst the despair, a glimmer of hope emerged.

He spotted a charging phone in the room and used it to contact the police. Assault Officers arrived at the scene around 5:00 PM, bringing the ordeal to an end.

The first defendant’s thirst for violence had landed him in prison, while the second defendant faced a lesser sentence for his role in the assault.

The latter was handed down one month behind bars for his role in the crime, while the mastermind of the kidnapping was sentenced to three years in prison.

They both challenged the verdict, and the High Appeals Court will issue its ruling on October 6, 2024.
