Bahrain and Uganda forge Cricket Partnership

In a significant move to foster international sports relations, Mr Mohammed Shahid, Advisor to the Bahrain Olympic Committee PresidentHis Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of BRAVE CF and CEO of KHK Sports, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA). The delegation, led by Hon. Chairman Michael Nuwagaba and Hon. Secretary Jackson Kavuma, arrived in Bahrain to explore avenues for increased cooperation in the field of cricket.

During the visit, both parties discussed the immense potential for collaboration between Bahrain and Uganda in the sports sector, particularly cricket. Mohammed Shahid expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "When we talk about the sports sector, there is no doubt that Africa and the GCC have the highest potential.

The collaboration between countries from both these regions is going to be a key strategy to unlock this potential. We are excited to meet the Ugandan cricket delegation and discuss the KHK Sports strategies in cricket and other areas of sports between Bahrain and Uganda."

Highlighting the immediate outcomes of the discussions, Mohammad Mansoor announced, "Bahrain will be going to Uganda to play three T20I matches and two 50-over tournaments in Uganda." This visit marks a significant step forward in the relationship between Uganda and Bahrain, emphasizing the growing importance of cricket as a platform for cultural exchange and economic development.

The discussions between the two cricket boards focused on strengthening cricketing ties, exploring the possibility of bilateral cricket series, and identifying areas for further cooperation. Key areas of collaboration include player development, coaching exchanges, and knowledge sharing.

As both nations seek to elevate their cricketing standards and expand their global footprint, this partnership represents a significant opportunity for growth and mutual benefit. The visit underscores the commitment of both Bahrain and Uganda to enhancing their sports capabilities and fostering international cooperation.
