The British School of Bahrain (BSB) announced that it has earned the highest rating of “Outstanding” in its recent review conducted by the Bahrain Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA). This prestigious recognition follows the school’s most recent accolade of being rated “Outstanding in all areas” by the British School Overseas (BSO), just last week.

BSB is the first school in Bahrain to navigate the new framework. The leading institution was chosen by the Ministry of Education to pioneer the merging of the BQA and British School Overseas (BSO) inspections. Inspectors representing both accreditors, conducted a joint inspection of the school, in line with their respective standards, paving the way for joint inspections for other BSO-members schools in the Kingdom.

This exceptional result illustrates how the school’s delivers a world-class British education that prioritises academic excellence, student well-being, and a global perspective.

The BQA review is a comprehensive and thorough evaluation process, meticulously assessing the performances of schools. BSB’s “Outstanding” rating across areas such as academic achievements, personal development and wellbeing, teaching, learning, as well as leadership, management, and governance, reflects the dedication of BSB’s staff and leadership to continuous improvement.

The BQA report emphasised the dynamic culture of innovation witnessed across the school through various pioneering projects that concentrate on sustainability and the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The report commended the presence of a diverse range of extracurricular activities to cater to students’ interests and passions, further underscoring the Kingdom’s largest offering of extracurricular activities. The report also praised the school’s success in adopting exceptional student-centred teaching and learning strategies to accommodate diverse student learning needs, ensuring every learner thrives. Liz Stanley, BSB Executive Headmaster, commented: This ‘Outstanding’ rating is a monumental achievement for our school. Maintaining this rating since the previous review in March 2016 reflects the passion of our educators, staff, and students.

It underscores our commitment to cultivate an exceptional learning environment where students are encouraged to excel academically, develop strong character, and embrace a global perspective. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.”
