AUBH Students Proudly Represent Bahrain at the 29th Annual Youth Assembly in New York

Three American University of Bahrain (AUBH) students proudly represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the 29th Annual Youth Assembly Conference. Held at the UN headquarters in New York, USA, from August 16 to 18, the conference gathered young leaders from over 100 nations under the theme ‘Forge Our Shared Future.’

AUBH sponsored the delegation, which included Salma Janahi and Ahmed Fouad Rahimi, both Multimedia Design students, and Saud Shareeda, a Computer Science student.

The conference featured thematic discussions with panels of experts and leaders, as well as skill-building workshops. These sessions provided opportunities for in-depth dialogue, talent development, and enhancement of leadership capabilities. In recognition of its contributions, AUBH has been added to the AFS Youth Assembly's official sponsor list, securing its acknowledgment in both online and print platforms.

The American University in Bahrain (AUBH) has been recognized by AFS Intercultural Programs President & CEO, Mr. Daniel Obst, and Bahraini Youth Ambassador of the 29th Youth Assembly, Dr. Lulwa AlSada, for its unwavering support of students participating in the AFS Youth Assembly. In a recent statement, Mr. Obst expressed his gratitude to AUBH for its continued dedication to their students to be a part of the Bahraini delegation to the Youth Assembly's annual sessions in the United States. He highlighted the university's crucial role in enabling Bahraini students to represent their country at this esteemed event, engage in significant discussions, and develop their leadership skills.

Dr. Lulwa AlSada echoed Mr. Obst’s sentiments, emphasizing the university’s significant contributions to the AFS Youth Assembly. She commended AUBH for its dedication to leading initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Bahrain’s 2030 vision. By offering students international opportunities to participate in projects addressing global challenges, AUBH is equipping them to become active citizens and contribute to a sustainable future.

AUBH student Salma Janahi expressed gratitude, “It is a great honor to represent both the American University of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Bahrain at the conference. We are immensely grateful for the university’s unwavering support of its students and for providing us with countless opportunities to develop our skills and acquire the knowledge necessary to contribute to our country’s progress.”

“Participating in this conference was an invaluable experience,” shared AUBH student Ahmed Rahimi. “Engaging in discussions on critical global youth issues and interacting with diverse cultures broadened my perspective. AUBH student Saud Shareeda shared his excitement about representing Bahrain globally: “This conference brings together young leaders and changemakers from over 100 countries to participate in workshops, discussions, and networking. I’m grateful to AUBH for this opportunity and look forward to representing AUBH and Bahrain in future international events.”

For the third consecutive year, AUBH students had the honor of representing Bahrain at the Annual Youth Assembly Conference.
