First Motors Celebrates 20 Years with Hyundai, Earns Prestigious Dealer of the Year Award

First Motors, the official dealer and distributor of Hyundai, Genesis, and Hyundai commercial vehicles in Bahrain, marked a major milestone earlier this year, celebrating 20 successful years of partnership with Hyundai Motor Company.
The celebration culminated with a press conference and a special 20th-anniversary event held at the First Motors showroom in Ma’ameer. The event was attended by key figures, including Khalid Rashid Al Zayani, Honorary Chairman of Al Zayani Investments, alongside First Motors Managing Director Nawaf Al Zayani, General Manager Mohammed Zaki, and other prominent management members and guests.
As part of the event, attendees were treated to the premiere of a special documentary chronicling First Motors' journey from its inception to becoming a leading name in Bahrain's automotive industry. The documentary highlighted the growth of First Motors’ partnership with Hyundai and its transformation into a key player in the region’s auto market.
A major highlight of the celebration was First Motors being awarded the prestigious Hyundai Dealer of the Year (DOTY) 2024 for the second consecutive year. Yoon Won Ko, Senior Country Manager from Hyundai Motor Company’s Middle East and Africa headquarters, presented the accolade during the ceremony. The DOTY programme recognizes the top 100 Hyundai dealers globally, rewarding excellence across sales, after-sales service, facility standards, customer experience, and business management.
This year, nine dealers from around the world were recognized, with First Motors being one of only three dealerships in the GCC, alongside representatives from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to receive this prestigious honor.
Speaking at the event, expressed his gratitude for the successful collaboration with Hyundai over the past two decades. “Reflecting on the incredible success we've had together fills me with immense pride, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and loyalty shown to us by our valued customers, partners, stakeholders, and employees,” Zaki said.
He added, “At First Motors, we have always believed in pushing boundaries and setting new standards of excellence. As we look to the future, our commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles and exceptional service to our customers remains steadfast.”
Over the past 20 years, First Motors has achieved remarkable milestones, contributing to the company’s exponential growth. These accomplishments include the construction of a state-of-the-art showroom and service center in 2009 to meet the increasing demand for Hyundai vehicles, the establishment of Quick Lube Service Centers in Salmabad and Arad, an expansion of its main showroom in 2020, and the opening of a genuine Hyundai parts shop in Arad in August 2024.
The partnership’s success has been underscored by numerous accolades, including recognition by Hyundai for outstanding sales performance in 2017. Another key milestone was the inauguration of the region’s first dedicated Genesis Showroom in Sitra in 2021, a major achievement that placed First Motors at the forefront of the luxury automotive market in Bahrain and the wider region.
