The Labour Fund "Tamkeen" has reaffirmed its commitment to preventing manipulation and misuse of its support programs, commending the ongoing cooperation from relevant authorities in protecting public funds and ensuring that assistance reaches rightful beneficiaries.

This announcement follows a recent conviction related to a violation reported by Tamkeen to the Public Prosecution, concerning the misuse of the National Employment Program, one of Tamkeen’s key initiatives.

Through continuous monitoring and site visits, Tamkeen’s Violations Committee identified a serious breach involving the ghost employment of 23 individuals. Although the enterprise in question was registered with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and had reported its employees to the Social Insurance Organization, investigations revealed that the company did not exist at the address registered with Tamkeen or any other locations. Furthermore, none of the individuals listed as employees had joined the organization.

Upon confirming the details of the case, Tamkeen's Violations Committee submitted a report to the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, which subsequently referred the matter to the Public Prosecution. This violation represents a significant infringement of Bahrain’s laws and regulations, as well as an attempt to defraud multiple official authorities to unlawfully secure support funds.

Tamkeen praised the collaborative efforts with relevant authorities to enforce the Kingdom’s laws and uphold its internal regulatory policies. The organization urged all enterprises to adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of the support programs to avoid any actions that may lead to disciplinary measures.

Tamkeen continues to strengthen its regulatory initiatives in overseeing employment and wage support programs, having conducted over 4,300 inspection visits since the programs were launched in November 2023.
