The London Breast Care Center held a special event as part of its 2024 initiative to raise awareness about breast cancer in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Held on Saturday in the Cultural Hall of The Domain Hotel and Spa. The event marked the launch of a month-long campaign dedicated to increasing awareness and promoting early detection and treatment.

The event featured prominent figures from the medical community, including Dr. Zainab Aldwlabi, a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK specializing in general surgery.

During her address, Dr. Aldwlabi emphasized, "We can bring breast cancer deaths down to zero through early screening and detection, as it is 90% curable in its early stages."

Motivational speaker, artist, and mountaineer Mrs. Madhu Sarda also shared her insights, stating, "Let us draw strength from overcoming pain and celebrate our victories, whether big or small, that lead us to the summit."

She highlighted that reaching the summit is not just about physical endurance but also about mental strength and the support of those around us. Mrs. Sarda underscored the importance of mental well-being, meditation, and yoga in the fight against breast cancer.

Dr. Krishna Kavita from Al-Hilal Hospital added, "As a gynecologic oncologist, I advise those with a family history to consult an obstetrician/gynecologist. A healthy lifestyle can reduce risks. Let us work together to enhance awareness and early detection to save lives."

A highlight of the day was the inspiring testimony from Mrs. Nida Socorro, a breast cancer survivor, who shared her journey: "Facing breast cancer has been one of the most devastating experiences of my life.

However, it has also transformed me into the strongest version of myself. I now embrace life with a renewed strength that no challenge can diminish."

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the London Breast Care Center said it is committed to spreading awareness throughout the month with a series of initiatives aimed at educating the public and encouraging early detection.
