Labour Minister praises Bapco’s workforce strategy

His Excellency Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, visited Bapco Refining.
The minister commended the company’s pioneering efforts to recruit and develop a skilled national workforce in Bahrain’s energy sector, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as the vital role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco Energies.
This commitment reflects the importance of safeguarding natural resources and investing in sustainable futures for the Kingdom’s citizens.
The Minister highlighted Bapco Refining’s success in integrating Bahraini talent across production operations and its continuous commitment to training and upskilling local workers.
He praised the company’s comprehensive training framework, which equips Bahraini employees for career progression and leadership roles.
His Excellency also commended Bapco’s five-year plan for Bahrainisation, underscoring that reliance on national talent, known for efficiency and productivity, is a valuable asset for the company.
He emphasised the Ministry of Labour’s collaboration with Tamkeen to provide Bahraini citizens with specialised training for diverse sectors, focusing on new skill requirements in fields like digital and technological transformation. The Labour highlighted Bapco’s model for successful workforce initiatives.
He highlighted the strong relationship between the company’s management and labour representatives, fostering positive social dialogue.
He also commended Bapco’s commitment to workplace safety and health practices, which have earned it a distinguished reputation internationally in occupational health and safety standards.
