Citi Bahrain holds its third annual Alumni meeting

For the third year in a row, Citi Bahrain recently held its annual Alumni Event at the Four Seasons Hotel to bring together former employees of Citi Bahrain that have worked in the bank since it began operating in 1969. The event was attended by about 100 former and current employees of the bank. 

The Citi Alumni Network is a global platform that connects thousands of the bank’s former employees across the globe, enabling alumni to remain in touch with Citi and their ex-colleagues. It is open to all employees who have worked at Citi in Bahrain and elsewhere for more than one year.

As part of the annual gathering, an exceptional Alumnus receives the “Citi Distinguished Alumni Award”. This year, Citi presented Sabah Almoayyed with the award in the Leadership & Ingenuity category. Sabah is a leading banker who began her banking career at Citi in Lebanon and Bahrain. 

Chief Executive Officer of Citi Bahrain Usman Ahmed presented Sabah the award and highlighted that the award is given to an alumnus who distinguishes him/herself in their business or personal endeavours through exceptional leadership or ingenuity. The award is in recognition of Sabah’s dedication, commitment, innovative approach to business, leadership skills, and successful management of the team. 

Usman commented, “A panel of senior leaders from Citi study the nominations sent from across Citi’s global network to select the winner of this prestigious award. Sabah’s career over the last 30 plus years and achievements as a leading banker as well as her extraordinary efforts in empowering women in the banking and financial sector, especially in the last couple of years strongly contributed to this special recognition from Citi”.

Citi Bahrain is planning to hold more events next year for its Alumni and will keep them informed of Citi’s news on a local, regional and international level. Plans include organizing social events as well as involving Alumni in community initiatives that Citi regularly holds to give back to the local community.
