Alba Celebrates First Batch of Employees Graduating from Bahrain Polytechnic’s Top-Up BEng Programme

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) celebrated the graduation of its first batch of employees from the Top-Up Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering programme, offered in collaboration with Bahrain Polytechnic. The ceremony, held on 19 November 2024 at the Bahrain National Theatre, was attended by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and other senior officials.
Ali Al Baqali, CEO of Alba, congratulated the 24 employees who successfully completed the part-time programme, which allows diploma holders to earn a Bachelor’s degree in just two years. Al Baqali emphasized the company’s commitment to developing talent from within, saying, “This programme enhances our employees’ skills, aligning with Alba’s mission to foster a highly skilled workforce.”
The programme is part of Alba’s ongoing strategy to invest in the professional growth of its employees, equipping them with advanced knowledge to drive operational excellence. The collaboration with Bahrain Polytechnic underscores the importance of partnerships between the private sector and educational institutions in Bahrain’s workforce development.
HE Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, praised the initiative, noting its alignment with Bahrain’s goals for economic growth and workforce advancement. “This collaboration highlights the success of industry-education partnerships in preparing Bahrain’s professionals for the future,” he said.
Alba continues to invest in employee development, with plans to expand education and training opportunities, further enhancing the Kingdom’s skilled workforce.
