Al Baraka Islamic Bank names Hussain Yousif Atiyah as Chief Corporate and Institutional Banking Officer

Al Baraka Islamic Bank, a leading Islamic bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the appointment of Mr. Hussain Yousif Atiyah as the Chief Corporate and Institutional Banking Officer. This move is part of the bank’s ongoing strategy to cement leadership positions with national talents and to build an exceptional management team.

Mr. Hussain Atiyah has extensive international banking experience, with a career spanning nearly 20 years during which he has held several leadership positions at various prestigious international financial institutions.

Before joining Al Baraka Islamic Bank, Mr. Hussain Atiyah held the position of Head of Commercial Banking Services at Citibank Bahrain for nearly ten years, where he was responsible for the markets in Bahrain and Jordan. Prior to Citi, he has also held various leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC - Bahrain.

On this occasion, Dr. Adel Salem, Chief Executive Officer of Al Baraka Islamic Bank, stated: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hussain Atiyah as Chief Corporate and Institutional Banking Officer, joining our senior executive management team at the bank. Mr. Hussain Atiyah holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, UK, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing from Ahlia University in addition to Diploma in Business and Finance. He has intensive experience in developing and formulating proactive strategies for corporate banking businesses in global financial institutions.
