Celebrating Bahraini Women’s Day: Mark Thomas Praises Women’s Leadership in Energy

Mr. Mark Thomas, CEO of Bapco Energy Group, marked the celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day by extending heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. He praised Bahraini women for their remarkable contributions to national development, especially in the energy sector, under the guidance of the Supreme Council for Women.

Highlighting Bahrain’s leadership in women’s empowerment, Mr. Thomas commended the Kingdom’s policies supporting gender balance, emphasizing their alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He said, “The theme of this year’s celebration, ‘Women are a Worthy Partner in Building the Nation,’ resonates deeply with Bapco Energy’s institutional principles. We are committed to raising sustainable development indicators for women and ensuring their pivotal role in economic growth.”

He further lauded the progress of Bahraini women in the energy sector, noting their 42% representation among Bapco Energy’s workforce, with women holding 21% of leadership roles, surpassing the global average. Thomas emphasized Bapco Energy’s efforts to foster an inclusive work environment, enhance opportunities for education and leadership, and ensure flexible policies supporting women’s dual roles in professional and family life.

Concluding, Mr. Thomas reaffirmed Bapco Energy’s commitment to aligning with Bahrain’s National Strategy for Women’s Advancement and contributing to the Kingdom’s sustainable future.
