Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of innovative Islamic financial solutions for simplifying money matters in the Kingdom of Bahrain, proudly celebrated Bahraini Women’s Day 2024 under the theme “Women: Worthy Partner in Nation Building.”

The Bank joined the annual commemoration on the 1st of December to reinforce its commitment to the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), whose tireless efforts continue to empower women across all sectors.

Ms. Fatema AlAlawi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of BisB said, “At BisB, Bahraini women are valued as trusted partners in building our banking system. Our female employees are integral to driving growth and innovation, and we remain determined to uplifting them to assume leadership positions as they excel in their roles. Through recognition, development, and tailored benefits, we remain unwavering in supporting our colleagues as they help shape a brighter future for Islamic banking and the Kingdom’s economic progress.”

BisB takes pride in acknowledging the critical part Bahraini women play in advancing the success of the Bank and the broader financial sector. They now represent 34% of the Bank’s workforce, with 33% holding middle management, 19% in executive leadership, and 10% represented on the Board of Directors. These figures underscore the Bank’s focus on encouraging gender diversity and inclusion.

In line with its ethos of ensuring a supportive work environment, BisB offers its female employees benefits that go above and beyond labour law stipulations. These include extended maternity leave, additional paid leave for child vaccinations, and reduced working hours for the first two years of motherhood.

Additionally, the Bank grants unique entitlements such as leave for fertility treatments, grandmother leave, and longer Idda leave. Specialised training programmes are also organised to enhance their skills and career progressions, resulting in a holistic approach that positions BisB as a leader in championing women’s empowerment in the industry.

On this occasion, the Bank is offering a package of exclusive offers starting from 1st till 5th December only for Bahraini women, including a competitive and exclusive profit rate on personal financing, and 50% extra BisB reward points when spending BD 100 or more using BisB’s Visa credit cards. Also, BisB’s social committee distributed gifts to all female employees as a token of appreciation for their efforts and contributions to the bank’s growth and development.
