This came during leading the Bahrain Chamber delegation at the 29th Partnership Summit of the Institute of Investment 2024 in New Delhi.

Al Kooheji noted that India is a key strategic partner for Bahrain, with trade exceeding $1 billion by the end of 2023. He highlighted that cooperation is focused on various sectors such as industrial, technology and food security.

He highlighted that India presents valuable opportunities for Bahrain to advance its economic diversification efforts. The investment potential in both countries opens promising avenues for collaboration, particularly in the fields of technology, food production, and healthcare. He reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with India to achieve mutual interests and enhance economic development. The Partnership Summit addressed key topics, including investment in a growth-supportive reformative environment, building resilient global supply chains, promoting climate solutions by linking clean technology with finance, and the role of technological leadership in building an interconnected future.

On the sidelines of the summit, Al Kooheji, part of the Bahraini delegation led by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah Fakhro, met with India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal. They reaffirmed the strong historical ties between Bahrain and India and stressed the importance of resolving pending issues with the Indian Chambers Federation to strengthen economic relations and promote mutual investments.
