Tamkeen Highlights Key Achievements and Strategic Vision for 2025

The Labour Fund "Tamkeen" held a press conference to showcase its significant achievements for 2024 and outline strategic priorities for 2025. Tamkeen announced its largest milestone since inception: the successful support of over 41,000 Bahrainis in private sector employment and career development programs this year.

Achievements in 2024

Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, highlighted the organization’s pivotal role in fostering sustainable economic growth by creating quality job opportunities and providing pathways for career advancement. These initiatives align with Bahrain’s National Labour Market Plan 2023-2026 and Government Action Plan 2023-2026, implemented in collaboration with Team Bahrain.

Key performance metrics included:

  • 15,200 Bahrainis supported through employment programs.
  • 25,700 Bahrainis benefitted from skill enhancement initiatives.
  • 8,500 enterprises received growth and productivity support, with 51% being SMEs.
  • 40% of employment support beneficiaries were women.
  • An 88% increase in professional certifications compared to the previous year.
  • The Wage Increment Program led to an average salary rise of BD 80.

Strategic Priorities for 2025

Ms. Alya Alaali, Chief Strategy and Data Analytics Officer, outlined Tamkeen's 2025 vision, focusing on:

  1. Enhancing Bahrainis' competitiveness in the private sector.
  2. Equipping talent with advanced skills for career development.
  3. Supporting enterprise growth, digital transformation, and sustainability.

Innovations and Digital Transformation

Tamkeen has prioritized operational excellence by introducing fully digital services, such as open banking for IBAN verification, electronic cheque systems, and enhanced data integration with partners. These initiatives aim to streamline customer experiences and reduce reliance on physical service centers.

Monitoring and Safeguarding Efforts

To ensure transparency and proper allocation of support, Tamkeen strengthened monitoring measures, conducting over 6,000 inspections in 2024 and contacting 54,400 beneficiaries. Plans for 2025 include:

  • 15,000 wage support inspections.
  • 4,000 enterprise support inspections.

Tamkeen’s Executive Director of Programs and Partnerships, Mr. Ali Hasan, emphasized the importance of these efforts in driving economic resilience and ensuring impactful program delivery.
