Yellow Door Energy, the leading sustainable energy partner for businesses in the Middle East and Africa, is at the forefront of Bahrain’s renewable energy transformation, empowering businesses to embrace sustainability through impactful solar energy solutions. With a global portfolio covering 100 projects across six countries, Yellow Door Energy’s dedication to clean energy has positioned it as a vital contributor to the Kingdom’s sustainability ambitions.
In the last two years, Yellow Door Energy has more than doubled its portfolio of operating projects in Bahrain, from 8.6 MWp in 2023 to 19 MWp by the end of 2024. In addition, it has achieved an additional 12.4 MWp of signed projects with The Avenues and Seef Properties, expanding its total portfolio in Bahrain to 31.4 MWp. These projects, achieved through Yellow Door Energy’s innovative Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, enable businesses to lower their energy costs with no upfront investment while reducing carbon emissions and supporting Bahrain’s Net Zero by 2060 target.
“Yellow Door Energy is honored to play a pivotal role in helping businesses in Bahrain significantly reduce their energy costs and decarbonize their operations. With our extensive experience and renewable energy expertise, we are humbled to be a preferred solar developer in the Kingdom,” said Jeremy Crane, Group CEO of Yellow Door Energy. “Bahrain’s participation at COP29 further demonstrated the Kingdom’s growing influence in climate finance and sustainability. We are committed to making long-term investments in the Kingdom, contributing to a prosperous and sustainable future.”
Yellow Door Energy’s competitive edge lies in its robust financial backing, economies of scale, and technical expertise. By utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as bifacial solar panels, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and AI-driven operations and maintenance services, the company ensures its projects meet or even exceed performance targets and maximize clean energy generation. This strong foundation is further enhanced by its cost-effective PPA model, which simplifies the adoption of solar energy for businesses.
Beyond its technical capabilities, Yellow Door Energy is deeply committed to community engagement. With 45% of its Bahrain workforce being Bahraini, the company highly values local expertise. A recent collaboration with INJAZ Bahrain educated secondary students about solar energy through an interactive tour at the Bahrain City Centre solar carport. Such initiatives have earned the company the prestigious Al Bilad Award for Social Responsibility in the Environment Category, demonstrating its commitment to both raising awareness about environmental sustainability and providing sustainable energy solutions.
Yellow Door Energy’s efforts are transforming Bahrain’s energy landscape, generating 39.7 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy from operating projects and mitigating 18,000 metric tons of carbon emissions as of November 30, 2024. The company exemplifies how renewable energy drives economic resilience and environmental stewardship, remaining a trusted partner in the Kingdom’s journey toward a greener, more sustainable future.
