2025 Holiday Calendar Unveiled: 17 Days Off for the New Year

The 2025 holiday calendar has been officially released, revealing that there will be a total of 17 days off throughout the year. The holiday season kicked off with the New Year's Day break two weeks ago.
According to the calendar, the longest holidays will occur during Eid al-Fitr, as well as the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha, each lasting five days. The Eid al-Fitr holiday will run from Friday, March 28, to Tuesday, April 1. Following this, Labour Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 1. The Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha will be observed from Friday, June 6, to Tuesday, June 10.
The Islamic New Year will be observed on Thursday, June 26. Additionally, Ashura will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, extending to Monday, July 7, as a compensatory holiday for the official Saturday break. The birthday of the Prophet Mohammed will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, extending for three days due to the official Friday and Saturday holidays.
Finally, the celebrations for the National Day and the King's Accession Day will occur on December 16 and 17, which fall on Tuesday and Wednesday. A mid-term break for students and teachers is also scheduled from January 19 to January 30 of this year.
