Vatel Bahrain Hosts Prestigious 18th Vatel International Convention

The 18th Vatel International Convention, held at The Art Hotel & Resort, marked a significant event for Bahrain’s hospitality sector, with Her Excellency Mrs. Sara Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, emphasizing the importance of Vatel Bahrain in nurturing national talent.

The convention brought together delegations from Vatel branches across 30 countries, reinforcing the institution's role in equipping professionals with world-class skills and addressing the evolving needs of the hospitality industry. Mrs. Buhiji highlighted the key role that hospitality plays in Bahrain’s economic growth, stressing the Kingdom’s efforts to train national professionals to meet the highest international standards. She expressed pride in the graduates of Vatel Bahrain, noting their exceptional competence in various industry forums.

Investing in young talent in the hospitality industry, she noted, aligns with Bahrain's broader Tourism Strategy 2022-2026 and Economic Vision 2030.

Sheikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Director of Vatel Bahrain, also addressed the forum, emphasizing the institution's long history of success through strategic partnerships with leading educational, hospitality, and hotel institutions. He underlined the importance of raising awareness about Vatel Bahrain and its high-quality educational offerings, solidifying its position as a top institution for tourism and hospitality education.

H.E. Mr. Eric Giraud-Telme, Ambassador of France to Bahrain, commended Vatel Bahrain for its role as a key training pillar in the Kingdom’s tourism sector. He recognized the institution’s contributions to creating high-quality employment opportunities for Bahrainis and attracting investment in tourism, aligning with the country’s economic diversification efforts and the goal of increasing tourism's share in Bahrain’s GDP.

Mrs. Karine Sebban-Benzazon, President of Vatel Group, expressed her admiration for Vatel Bahrain’s remarkable progress, acknowledging it as one of the most distinguished French hospitality colleges worldwide. She noted that the educational opportunities provided by Vatel Bahrain equip Bahraini youth with essential skills, ensuring their success in the hospitality industry.

The convention also highlighted the institution’s developmental milestones, including advancements in student exchange programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The event fostered discussions on enhancing global collaboration between Vatel branches and exploring new opportunities for future cooperation.

As part of the event, guests toured the Vatel Bahrain campus, where they were welcomed by students who demonstrated the high level of proficiency they have acquired through a curriculum that combines rigorous academic education with intensive practical training. The visit provided an in-depth look at how Vatel Bahrain ensures that its students master world-class hospitality techniques in line with international standards.
