Bahrain Olympic Committee wins Best Arab Olympic Authority Award for 2024

In a new milestone for Bahraini sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has been named Best Arab Olympic Authority for 2024 by the Arab Sports Culture Federation. The award recognizes the committee’s sporting achievements, administrative successes, and pioneering initiatives.
Mr. Ashraf Mahmoud, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Arab Union for Sports Culture and a member of the International Union for Sports Culture, presented the award to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the BOC, along with senior sports officials and media representatives.
Expressing his delight, His Highness Shaikh Khalid highlighted the BOC’s accomplishments, including Bahrain’s first-place ranking in the Arab world at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where Bahraini athletes secured four medals—two gold, one silver, and one bronze. He also praised the committee’s role in launching sports projects and initiatives that have earned widespread recognition.
“The Olympic Committee is a cornerstone of Bahraini sports, supporting Team Bahrain and driving historic achievements. Our success at the Paris 2024 Olympics is a testament to our dedication. This award motivates us to continue striving for excellence and raising Bahrain’s flag high,” he said.
His Highness also extended his gratitude to the Arab Sports Culture Federation for its efforts in advancing sports across the Arab world. He commended the Federation’s annual awards, which inspire athletes and sports institutions to achieve The award ceremony new heights.
