Bahrain Chamber praises first national satellite

The Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, praised the launch of the “Al Munther” satellite, the first Bahraini satellite manufactured by national talent within the Kingdom of Bahrain. He described it as a landmark achievement that highlights Bahrain’s advancements in science and technology. Nass emphasized that this project is a strategic step toward strengthening national expertise in space sciences and harnessing modern applications in this critical sector.
Nass stated that the launch of “Al Munther” reflects Bahrain’s ambitious vision of investing in the economy of the future, as the space sector is a key pillar of a knowledge and innovation driven economy.
He added that localizing satellite technologies and employing artificial intelligence in image analysis will strengthen the Kingdom’s ability to build a competitive and diversified economy that supports sustainable development and aligns with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
He also highlighted that this achievement opens new horizons for Bahraini youth to pursue careers in space technology, which is one of the pillars of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He pointed out that the space sector is no longer exclusive to major corporations but presents a promising opportunity for startups to invest in cutting-edge technologies with high and sustainable returns.
Additionally, Nass stressed the importance of investing in innovation and advanced technology, noting that space projects contribute to economic growth and position Bahrain as an attractive destination for specialized investments. He highlighted the Kingdom’s advanced infrastructure, investment-friendly climate, and strong logistics services as key factors in attracting pioneering projects in space and technology.
He concluded by reaffirming the Bahrain Chamber’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the Kingdom’s regional and global standing in promising sectors. He emphasized that investment in space sciences will positively impact Bahrain’s economy and help establish the Kingdom as a regional hub for innovation and advanced technology
