BIHR for Young Chef Olympiad

The Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail (BIHR) (part of A Dadabai Group) yesterday announced its participation in the world’s second Young Chef Olympiad in January 2016 for the first time, representing Bahrain.

The competition, held in India, is organised by the International Institute of Hotel Management. The event will take place across four cities commencing in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore before reaching the cultural city of Kolkata where the Grand Final will take place.

Commenting on the event, Nigel Viegas Director BIHR, said, “This is an event designed to bring together aspiring young Chef’s from many culturally diverse countries.

Participating in such events creates an international platform for the interaction of young professional culinary talents from around the world and to display the creative and innovative aspects of developing the profile of Chef’s from 67 Countries around the world, it also creates camaraderie and goodwill among youth of different nations by connecting them through the world’s most spoken language – Food.”

Participating in the event representing Bahrain is Michelle Pinto, a student who is currently in the second semester of Swiss Hospitality Programme HTMi. He will be accompanied by a Training Bahraini Chef, Farah Fekri who has been a chef and mentor at BIHR for nine long years.
BIHR will launch short Culinary programmes for the General Public that will focus on Healthy Cuisine, Pastry, Bread making and Party Platters.
