EWA, Benefit sign deal for Fawateer

ManamaElectricity and Water Authority (EWA) announced it has signed up for the Electronic Fund Transfer System (EFTS)  service with Benefit, thereby making it the first government entity to join Fawateer. 

Fawateer enables EWA to offer convenient and secure method of viewing and paying bills online using various bank channels. Fawateer also provides an enhanced Direct Debit service making it a more efficient method of payment to automate the bill payments process.

Fawateer will allow customers to pay their bills through various channels of retail banks in Bahrain such as branches, Internet banking and Mobile banking or automate their bill payments with Direct Debit service.

Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Chief Executive, Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa said, “We are proud to be the first government organisation joining this system, which will improve EWA’s payment Channels.”

Furthermore, Shaikh Nawaf emphasized: “The new system will expedite the DDI (Direct Debit Instruction) processing time, which would result in improving customer experience and ease payment processing time.” 

Abdulwahid Janahi, Benefit CEO said: “We are pleased to have this opportunity to further expand our services with EWA, to provide the EFTS, the fastest and most efficient reliable payment method. This agreement comes as an extension of a long prosperous relationship with EWA.”
