Shifa Al Jazeera to build hospitals in UAE

Manama : Saudi Arabia-based health care network Shifa Al Jazeera Group signed an agreement with Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, son of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, to build five super specialty hospitals in the UAE. At a ceremony held at Emirates Palace Hotel Abu Dhabi yesterday, Dr. K.T. Mohammed Rabeeh Rabeeullah, Chairman of Royal Shifa Group, singed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

 “We are building the hospitals with the same world class standard which the UAE provides for its people. I thank the rulers of the UAE and its people for providing us the best opportunity to serve the country,” Shifa Al Jazeera Group Chairman Dr. KT Mohammed Rabeeh Rabeeullah said. 

On this occasion, Shifa Al Jazeera Group announced charity work worth 100 million rupees in Indian State of Kerala for the coming three years. Education for the poor children, medical care and home for the needy people, and food for all are the projects involved in it. 

Excellence Award announced 

Shifa Al Jazeera Group announced the 17th Shifa Excellence awards. The winners are as follows-- Lifetime Achievement Award: Padmabhushan Dr. KJ Yesudas. (Singer). Achievement awards: Dr. VP Gangadharan (Renowned Oncologist and Philanthropist), M. Jayachandran (National Award winning music director), Saleem Ahmed (National Award winning film director), Sidhique (South Indian film actor), Dr. Uma Preman (Social activist), Kamal Varadoor (Sports journalist), Anwar Moidheen (Journalist) and Vava Suresh (Social activist).

 The award consists of a memento and five hundred thousand Indian rupees. Lifetime Achievement Award consists of a memento and one million Indian rupees. The award ceremony will be held in Muscat on December 30. 

Prominent political leaders such as PK. Kunjalikutty, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, actors Mammooty and Dulquar Salman and industrialist Dr. Anil pillai are among the guest of honours.
