TRA begins culture transformation project

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Bahrain began last week the first steps towards an initiative to transform its culture.

TRA Director of Human Resources & Finance Faisal Al Jalahma stated, “Through training, exposing their talents and skills to the right experience, and assessing our needs, we are now ready to focus on creating and boosting the right organisational culture. Not only does culture magnify TRA’s image as an employer of choice, but it makes the standard of excellence our unique identifier.”

TRA was on a journey of cultural transformation towards excellence for the past several years. It won the 2014 Award of Excellence for the institutional excellence and quality of performance.

The first phase of this project concentrates on gathering information and identifying the gaps. A visiting professor from BOND University, Dr. James R. Carlopio, met key staff members in TRA to determine the steps for this transformation.

Dr. Carlopio commented on the initiative, “The Authority’s staff are doing some very interesting things and I’m impressed with their degree of knowledge. Changing any organization’s culture is ambitious. The Authority is making all the right moves, and we’re happy to help.”

Dr. Carlopio is a management consultant and the author of five books on personal growth and development. He has worked for numerous Australian, European and US-based organizations, most recently in the areas of transformational change, organisational change, strategy design and implementation, ‘green’ change, and organisational and management development.
